THE FIVE ELEMENTS
In the forming of creation, the Gods made use of five elements. All living things have been created with various degrees of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water and sustained through Spirit. In this way are all things united.
Through magick we conjure the Elements, taking into ourselves the special properties of the Life-force for our trancendence, for the way of Magick is a path to sacred knowledge, reverence and humility.
These four elements correspond to the four directions of our physical world, the four quarters of the universe, the four winds, and most importantly to the four quarters of the magical circle. Each element is known for having certain qualities, natures, moods and magical purposes; each has its postive and negative traits.
A fifth element is Spirit, or Akasha, and is represented by the circle. Spirit is in and of all the elements and trancends them. It is the unifying force which animates all the other elements.
WATER-(WEST)-Feminine energy; is the realm of the psychic, the dream world, and the realm of feeling. It is related to childbirth, inner transformation, purification, emotional healing, romantic love, manifesting most spellwork, death and rebirth.

EARTH-(NORTH)- Feminine energy; is the realm of stability, growth and of the eternal Mother Goddess and the realm of the body. It is related to fertility, prosperity, grounding and centering, money, dance, motherly love, planting and harvesting, the home and pets.
ASSOCIATED ITEMS: Pentacle, Stone, Clay, Salt, Gems, Tree Branch, Plants, Shield and Bow
AIR-(EAST)- Masculine energy; is the realm of the mind and thought. It is related to the intellect, study, astral travel, communication, music and sound, weather magick, and power raising.
ASSOCIATED ITEMS: Staff, Athame, Wand, Sword, Feather, Incense, Dagger, Spear, Leaves, Besom (Witches Broom), Copper, Smoking Pipe
FIRE-(SOUTH)- Masculine energy; is the realm of transformation, change, disruption and passion. It is related to protection, exorcism and banishing, sex and sex magick, work, purification, divination, masculing power, personal energy and strength, the God, and candle magick.
ASSOCIATED ITEMS: Candle, Balefire, Flint, Ashes, Wheel, Torch, Solar Disk, Heat, Sun

Magick may yet take us on a journey to the realms beyond the Veil of Mist but so too may it bring great strength and wisdom to our daily life of toil. For then shall we come to hear with greater hearing, and see with greater vision, and taste with greater taste, and smell the scents of life which are all around us. And so too shall our touch yield more surely unto the pleasures and the pains which abound in this world."
