Rite of Self-Dedication (for Solitary Witches) (PLEASE NOTE: Before self-initiation into the Craft, it is imperative that a person first study the basic philosophy of Wicca and sincerely feel within his or her heart that the Old Religion is the correct path for him or her to follow.)
If you desire to become a Witch you may initiate yourself into the Craft and dedicate yourself to the Goddess and Her Consort by performing the following Self-Initiation Ritual on a night of the full or waxing moon, on any of the eight Witches' Sabbats, or on your birthday. I, myself, performed this ritual when dedicating myself to the Craft 4 years ago and I found it very intimate and soulful.
Begin by removing your clothes and bathe yourself in a perfumed or herbal ritual bath (symbolic of the element water) to purify your body and spirit of any negative vibrations. As you bathe, clear your mind completely of all mundane, negative and unpleasant thoughts and meditate until your body is totally relaxed.
After bathing, cast on the floor a circle of about six feet in diameter, using white chalk or paint. Sprinkle a bit of salt (symbolic of the element earth) over the circle to consecrate it, and say:
WITH SALT I CONSECRATE AND BLESS THIS CIRCLE IN THE DIVINE NAMES OF THE GODDESS AND HER CONSORT, THE HORNED GOD. BLESSED BE!
Sit in the center of the circle, facing north, with two white candles (symbolic of the element fire) and a censer of frankincense and myrrh incense (symbolic of the element air) before you. (It is best to perform this ritual skyclad or nude). Light the incense, and then light the first candle and say:
I INVOKE AND CALL UPON THEE O MOTHER GODDESS, CREATRESS OF LIFE AND SOUL OF THE INFINITE UNIVERSE. BY CANDLE FLAME AND INCENSE SMOKE DO I INVOKE THEE TO BLESS THIS RITE AND TO GRANT ME ADMITTANCE TO THE COMPANY OF THY LOVING CHILDREN.
O BEAUTIFUL GODDESS OF LIFE AND REBIRTH WHO IS KNOWN AS CERRIDWEN, ASTARTE, ATHENE, BRIGIT, DIANA, ISIS, MELUSINE, APHRODITE, AND BY MANY OTHER DIVINE NAMES, IN THIS CONSECRATED CIRCLE OF CANDLELIGHT I DO PLEDGE MYSELF TO HONOR THEE, TO LOVE THEE, AND TO SERVE THEE WELL FOR AS LONG AS I SHALL LIVE I PROMISE TO RESPECT AND OBEY THY LAW OF LOVE UNTO ALL LIVING THINGS. I PROMISE TO NEVER REVEAL CRAFT SECRETS TO ANY MAN OR WOMAN NOT OF THE SAME PATH; AND I SWEAR TO ABIDE THE WICCAN REDE; "AN IT HARM NONE, DO WHAT THOU WILT."
O GODDESS, QUEEN OF ALL WITCHES, I DO OPEN MY HEART AND SOUL TO THEE. SO MOTE IT BE.
Light the second candle and say:
I INVOKE AND CALL UPON THEE O GREAT HORNED GOD OF PAGANS, LORD OF THE GREEN WOODLANDS AND FATHER OF ALL THINGS WILD AND FREE. BY CANDLE FLAME AND INCENSE SMOKE DO I INVOKE THEE TO BLESS THIS RITE. O GREAT HORNED GOD OF DEATH AND ALL THAT COMES AFTER WHO IS KNOWN AS CERNUNNOS, ATTIS, PAN, DAGHDA, FAUNUS, FREY, ODIN, LUPERCUS, AND BY MANY OTHER NAMES, IN THIS CONSECRATED CIRCLE OF CANDLELIGHT I DO PLEDGE MYSELF TO HONOR THEE, TO LOVE THEE, AND TO SERVE THEE WELL FOR AS LONG AS I SHALL LIVE.
O GREAT HORNED GOD OF PEACE AND LOVE I DO OPEN MY HEART AND SOUL TO THEE. SO MOTE IT BE.
Hold your open hands up to the heavens. Close your eyes and visualize two white beams of glowing light streaking down from the sky and flowing into your palms. A warm tingling feeling will begin to spread throughout your body as the love power of the Goddess and God purifies your soul.
Feel the divine presence of the Goddess and God. Remain in the consecrated circle until both of the candles and the incense have burned themselves out. The Wiccan Rite of Self-Initiation is now ended.

Drawing Down the Moon Drawing Down the Moon (also know as "Calling Down the Moon") is the ritual invocation of the Goddess spirit-force into the High Priestess by the High Priest who uses his male polarity of the High Priestess.
During this Wiccan Ritual, the High Priestess enters a trance-like altered state of consciousness, and draws the power of the Goddess into herself. She then functions as a channel of the Goddess or as the Goddess incarnate within the circle until it has been uncast.
Note: Goddess energy may be drawn into any woman at any time, given she is aware of the different energies she may be invoking into herself. Finding and maintaining the use of such Goddess energy brings one to hightened sexuality, creativity, and flow.
~~GODDESS INCENSE~~
Prepare this incense when the moon is new.
1/2 dram cypress oil 1/2 dram olive oil 1/2 ounce dried rose petals 1/2 ounce white willow bark 3 dried rowan berries 1 teaspoon anise seeds
In a small bowl, blend together the cypress and olive oils. Set aside. Using a mortar and pestle, powder and mix together the rose petal, willow bark, rowan berries, and anise seeds. Add the dry ingredients to the oil mixture and stir together well.
Consecrate the Goddess Incense with a blessing and burn it on a hot charcoal block to honor and/ or invoke the Goddess. (It may also be used in healing rituals, lunar rituals, divinations, and all forms of love magick.)
